Meet Our Staff
My formal training includes a Masters of Divinity degree and experience as a congregational pastor, a Masters in Counseling degree with specialized training in EMDR,, and completion of the Upper Room Two Year Academy for Spiritual Formation. I work with you to address concerns that are keeping you from fully embracing and enjoying life. My experience includes work in pastoral ministry, spiritual formation, and mental health care. I am also an artist and dancer with an appreciation for the healing power of beauty and expression. My goals in life are to be a creator of beauty and a healing presence in relationships. Marlys is the clinical Director of CoSTAR, and brings 25+ years of experience in the addiction/mental health fields, specializing 20 years in the treatment of sex addiction and co-addiction. Her expertise also includes the treatment of PTSD, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, sexuality/spirituality, grief/Loss, and Relationship Issues. Her specialized training includes yearly programs by Dr. Patrick Carnes and the National Sexual Addiction Organization, previously serving on its board of directors and currently as an advisor. She is a certified sex addiction therapist, a certified addiction specialist, a licensed drug/alcohol counselor, a level II practitioner in EMDR, and a certified consultant in sex addiction training. |
